Buying shoes, handbags & luxury items doesn’t make women feel good about themselves

The biggest mistake most women make is thinking buying shoes, handbag or luxury items will make them feel better about themselves.

And I get it. Advertisers paint that perfect picture of a women with her latest purchase looking happy and fulfilled. So it’s easy to fall into that trap.

But let me ask you. Does everyone who buys new shoes, handbags or luxury items feel happy and fulfilled? No, and you can actually end up feeling worse about yourself because you continue to tell yourself crappy things like you’re not good enough, pretty enough, thin enough or smart enough, if you hold onto this belief.

It’s like putting on a band-aide or plaster on a gaping wound that clearly needs expert attention!

So how do you feel better about yourself?

You focus on your thoughts. The crappy thoughts you’ve been telling yourself such as I’m not good enough, I’m not pretty enough, thin enough or smart enough.

You may not even notice these thoughts because repeated thoughts become a habit, and are put on autopilot. Much like when you drive a car, you no longer have to consciously think of it.

You’re only one reconstructed thought away from a break through.

So sit down and write out all the crappy things you’ve been telling yourself. Bring those thoughts off autopilot and consciously thing of them again. Much like when you drive a different car, you have to bring the driving action back into conscious memory.

Then, write a counter thought that is more helpful. Repeat that thought over and over again until that new thought becomes a habit and is put on autopilot.

So let me ask you. Do you really want to keep buying things in the hope that it will make you feel better about yourself and keep telling yourself those crappy things that your not good enough, your not pretty enough, thin enough or smart enough.

Or do you want to make yourself a priority and finally prove it to yourself that you are worthy by reconstructing your thoughts so that you truly feel better about yourself.
